WOW! That's Engineering!
A big thank you to everyone who volunteered, advertised, and participated in the SWE-CI 2016 WOW! That's Engineering! event on April 9! We had 114 girls and 26 parents join us at IUPUI for a day of engineering exploration and design challenges! Girls learned about circuits while building light-up picture frames, and explored the basics of HTML searches. They dabbled in chemical, materials, electrical, and mechanical engineering, and put their design minds to the test to solve real-world problems. We also enjoyed a keynote speech from Andrea Kimberlin, Miss Kentucky International 2016, who shared with us some of the many fun ways girls are transforming technology. The event was a big success, and we look forward to the next one! Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this day fun and educational for girls in our community.

Women & Hi Tech Leading Light Award Scholarships
Women & Hi Tech is awarding two $5,000 scholarships (one undergraduate, one graduate) to women living in Indiana with plans to remain here after graduation. The Women & Hi Tech Scholarships are open to women pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering or math. The two recipients will be honored at the Women & Hi Tech Leading Light Awards on October 6, 2016 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
