Welcome to: The Rural Crime Breakfast Briefing
Where: Seminar Room, Hall 1, the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate
When: Tuesday 12 July 2016 – 8.30am
I would like to invite you to join me for bacon butties, pastries and a cuppa at the Rural Crime Breakfast Briefing at this year's Great Yorkshire Show.

The event promises to be a ‘must’ for anyone interested in rural life and the challenges inherent in keeping rural communities safe.

It’s your chance to tell the team about your experiences and concerns about rural crime as well as to ask questions.

At this seminar, I will also unveil for the first time new research which demonstrates the challenges in policing rural areas and why a fair funding settlement from Government for rural forces is essential.

As well as myself, speakers will include:
  • North Yorkshire’s Acting Assistant Chief Constable Amanda Oliver
  • Professor Sheena Asthana, of Plymouth University, a leading authority on public funding across the urban/rural divide
  • Inspector Jon Grainge, who leads North Yorkshire’s new Rural Crime Taskforce.
The seminar promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking event at which participants will have a real opportunity to influence those at the forefront of rural policing.
