Welcome to this week’s e-news.
Last Thursday afternoon Leanne and I attended the GentooTolent Euro 2016 event at TigerHornsby in Newcastle and it was great to see so many of you there to cheer on England and Wales. I would like to thank GentooTolent for their kind invitation and hospitality.
On Friday evening the CENE team were guests at The Works Tenth Birthday Celebration at Ramside Hall Hotel and what a night we had! We would like to thank The Works for inviting us and wish them every success for the future.
This week has been pretty busy looking at our schedule of events for the autumn which we are delighted to announce we will be holding a Construction Summit on September 20th with two key speakers already confirmed which are Richard Waterhouse of NBS and Don Ward for Constructing Excellence. We will be announcing further speakers shortly and we do have a few sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available, so if you are interested in those please contact Leanne.
On Tuesday evening we held the second in the series of G4C and DAC Beachcroft seminars with this one looking at ‘Resolving Disputes’. Stephen McLellan, Associate at DAC Beachcroft discussed the issues surrounding disputes, how to avoid and the process of going through a dispute. We would like to thank Stephen for his excellent presentation and DAC Beachcroft for their hospitality. The third and final seminar is being held on Thursday 14th July with further details below.
This morning was the Constructing Excellence North East Club event which were held at the offices of Ward Hadaway. This event covered Asset Management with speakers Tom Cudmore from the CE National Asset Management group who spoke about the Whole Life Cycle project. Our second speaker Richard Farrey of Silverstone Building Consultancy looked at building acquisition surveys and statutory compliance issues. Finally Michael Anderson of Esh Facilities looked at the facilities management side of a project and the handover and planning. The event was brilliant and we would like to thank all three speakers for their contributions. If you were unable to attend but would like a copy of the presentation, please contact Leanne.
Next week is another busy week for the CENE Team, with Leanne and I in London and Leeds. On Monday I have a meeting with our Constructing Excellence Regions to discuss the themes and topics that Constructing Excellence partners will cover in the next year. On Thursday and Friday Leanne and I will be attending our London & South East and Yorkshire & Humber Awards in London and Leeds and would like to wish all those shortlisted the very best of luck!
Please don’t forget we have lots going on including a couple of social events which include our fantastic Raceday and Charity Golf Day so please see below for further details.
Best wishes
Catriona
