Leaving for Peru today!

Dear praying friends,

     This evening I'm leaving Orlando, FL with my good friend and mentor, Mark Vowels, to fly to Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios, Peru. Mark is on the board of directors with IBM Global and is the director of missions at BJU.  We arrive back in the USA next Wednesday (June 29). This trip is a crucial part of discerning how our family can best fit into what God is doing in Puerto Maldonado.

     It has been neat to see God bringing the details together for this trip. He provided for the trip costs through several individual gifts and honorariums from churches. Also we praise God for continuing to build our partnership team. Our sending church, Calvary Baptist Church, recently voted to increase their monthly support which will bring us up to 71% of our targeted budget needs.

     Please pray specifically that God would open up gospel-sharing opportunities, give good times of fellowship and unity with the Christians in Peru (nationals and missionaries), and give clear direction about future ministry opportunities and partnerships. Please also pray for grace and strength for Kelly as she will be staying in the USA with our three girls. We’re glad to have family and friends around that can help out.
