Our lesson on Tuesday began with asking the children what their favorite animal is. Many said lions and tigers and butterflies! We then told them how they can do their part to help save their favorite animals' home and the planet. After the lesson, we had them team up and race to pick up the most trash. The team that gathered the most litter won!
 
We continued learning about the environment in our next lesson. The children learned all about butterflies. They now understand the life cycle of a butterfly and the migration patterns of Monarch Butterflies. In case you didn't know, Monarch Butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico by the thousands. When they arrive in Mexico, they completely cover trees! The children then taught us a little bit about butteflies. In Mexico, it is illegal to kill one!
In addition to all of our hard work with the children' activities, this week we also:
~Sponsored a sexual education class for 94 students at the secondary school in Teabo
~Played soccer with Constantino (Fundación Cielos' Co-Founder)
~Taught private English classes
~Hosted a pizza and game night with doctors
~Danced our butts off at Zumba with the locals
~Started our English Classes for the kids
~Visited Mayan Ruins in Izamal
~Attended a political rally for youths
..... And much more!
