Nourishing Millions

Nourishing Millions: Stories of Change in Nutrition brings together the most intriguing stories about improving nutrition from the past five decades. The book will be launched in DC launch on 29 June and Transform Nutrition are hosting the UK launch on 11 July. Please register if you would like to attend.

Need for Nutrition surveillance

.Our review of nutrition surveillance in low-income countries is now available. It describes the use and value of nutrition surveillance for a number of purposes including early warning of malnutrition, to develop and evaluate policies and programmes, and to assess progress towards international development goals for better nutrition.

Bangladesh conference

Bangladesh: Role of Knowledge and Partnership in the Delivery of Development Success  in Dhaka, Bangladesh 17-19 September 2016 will build on the longstanding partnership between BRAC, ICDDR,B and the Institute of Development Studies to explore the role of knowledge in the conceptualisation, design, delivery and management of development programmes and policies. 

Social value of nutrition

A new briefing Social Return On Investment Assessment Of A Baby Friendly Community Intervention In Urban Poor Settings, Nairobi, Kenya outlines the impact of the Maternal Infant and Young Children Nutrition project. It's aim was to improve the health and nutritional status of children and inform implementation of the government’s Baby Friendly Community Initiative. 

Nutrition strategies in Ethiopia 

Our research is being presented at a Nutrition research symposium in Addis Ababa this week with recommendations for how to move forward with nutrition sensitive programming in Ethiopia.

Nutrition champions

The full profiles of 10 nutrition leaders, identified through a global selection process led by Transform Nutrition, are now available. They reveal something of the breadth of experience and contexts in which those championing nutrition work to tackle nutrition at grassroots, regional, and national levels around the world.

Tackling Malnutrition in Zambia

The Stories of Change in Nutrition country brief and video for Zambia are now available. This study assesses trends in the nutrition context of Zambia over time. The hope is that understanding these processes more fully will facilitate improvements in Zambia, and by sharing best practices, will help other countries facing similar challenges.

The media and nutrition evidence

Editors, senior health correspondents, and young journalists from various districts of Madhya Pradesh,came together to discuss Data for Nutrition: Role of Media in Strengthening Uptake of Nutrition Evidence. The panelists discussed how media can use data to ensure greater attention to public health and nutrition issues and the challenges they face in doing so.

Early life nutrition and education

A new article Early life nutrition and future educational outcomes draws on Transform Nutrition research to argue that proven positive outcomes means that funding for the Integrated Child Development Services should be fully restored and efforts should be made to address its systemic inefficiencies. 

Nutrition Leaders Network

The Transform Nutrition Leaders Network is going from strength to strength. This community of nutrition experts are connecting with their peers nationally and globally to share experiences and lessons. All of our short course participants and nutrition champions are invited to become involved.
