Dear Ministry Partners….

We have missed sharing our hearts with you as our fulfilled lives keep us growing and enjoying more than ever each day the Lord has given us to live out His purpose for our lives.  Each day becomes a week; then a month, then soon a year and consequently time is flying by.

In the USA our granddaughter Kynzie, graduated from SPU (Seattle Pacific Univeristy) and our grandson Chase graduated from Columbine High School.  Our youngest grandchildren  have all now finished their elementary school days and are now onto Junior High bringing to close our elementary school days.  In Mozambique the AWYesu churches are growing as, “… they are continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2:46-47   Why such growth? The nation is not at peace and the one place of joy and sanctuary is with the church.  This is coupled with team members overseeing an area where there is an AWYesu church.  That member has a group of students and they go out twice a month and in some areas every weekend to spiritually buildup and teach the flock.  Discipling the students who in turn teach the people.  This way the people continue steadfast in the teachings they have received and continue to evangelize others in their community.

Trinity Team Dallas Texas has been and gone after almost three weeks of working side by side the teachers, team, students and church. Larry & Julie Lyons, Maise Figueiroa, Conor Lyons and Matthew Jordan painted, walked to cell meetings, evangelized, brought music and drama to the student's Drama Night, participated in Love Feasts with our churches while camping for Jesus in remote areas. They boldly rode a chapa which is our public transport entailing an overcrowded van in some cases without any windows and the sliding door clings to the van body with  duct tape and webbing.  They climbed aboard a public transport boat to go north, a ride that takes almost 2 hours among the goats and chickens, fresh fish and an assorted other variety of passengers.  An expedition for sure!  The results of the team's ministry here is found in salvations, healings, teachings, testimonies, water baptisms and more.  This team was resilient and flexible, two very necessary qualities needed while in Africa. Thank you Trinity Dallas, Pastor Joe Martin Senior Pastor and Pastor Stuart Barham Missions Pastor.  You not only sent a great team you blessed the school office with a much needed laptop that is running well.
Matthew Jordan remembers:
"The majority of the job I did in Coutinho was the dirtiest job I have ever done.  Carrying and shaving mud blocks (cutting off the rough edges with a machette) for the church to be built.  I knew that God has called me to be an evangelist, so naturally I wanted to be with the evangelism team which was evangelizing.  I was discouraged and down trodden.  After talking with another team member, I realized I was doing evangelism, just with a machette in my hand and a brick in the other.  My building would lead to a church which would lead to many salvations and a spiritual home for so many new believers in the future.  So all the work that I now do has a new perspective." Matthew received the revelation of the value of work for the Kingdom while sweating and doing the task at hand.
Conor Lyons reflects:
"This year in Coutinho, I was astonished by the amount of growth that the church had experienced. (he was on team in 2015) I saw many faithful Christians coming together daily - sacrificing their time and worshiping to the Lord with gusto.  They had fun! As I have heard said, "What good father wouldn't want his children to have fun!" Our Father is good and his smile is surely as big as the smiles on the faces of His people when they are enjoying themselves.  The Love Feast was so touching to me.  I was honored to partake in a meal prepared by the people who had poured themselves into the act of giving all they could for the sake sharing with everyone."

The Bible School students have been incredible this year with only one more months of school graduating mid-July.  We have been praying for future AWYesu leaders and when they arise we would be able to recognize them.  We have noted a few out of 43 that are worthy of considering for the future.  An answer to prayer.  Thank You!

Christian Life Centre, Pastor Mark Stone, Broken Bow NE, a long time Afrika wa Yesu connection starting years ago through Rodney and Ellie Hein, has just sent the finances to start building Muzuane wa Yesu church.  The vision for Muzuane Wa Yesu is that it is a Community Centre.  Not only for church meetings, but a place for the youth to meet to enjoy sports, night school and other activities. The youth have no place to go but into the streets.  This will offer 'the place' needed. An answer to prayer. Thank You!

Don and Leslie Vaughn and two other couples from the St. Louis area, long time AWYesu friends, sent finances to build a cement block church for Racine wa Yesu after Don visited in 2014 during the heavy rains and floods experiencing a collapsed mud church.  The work is finishing up with painting and bench construction as we look forward to inaugurating the church in July during Team Conference when the Founders Rodney & Ellie Hein are here. An answer to prayer. Thank You! Our heart is to not only evangelize the lost, but to physically build solid church buildings in central areas to establish a 'place' for the legacy containing AWYesu's heritage to remain. An answer to prayer. Thank You!

The povo (people) of Coutinho are making and fire baking mud blocks to house the increasing group of believers which has grown from 23 to 83 adults on some occasions.  Rodney heard the testimony of Prof. Lucas one morning at student devotions and responded to the moment by announcing AWYesu would put the zinc roof on the mud-block church. Thus the blocks are being fired and then they will be joined with cement not mud to build a solid structure for the roof.    An answer to prayer! Thank You!

Mozambique is in a dire need of a miracle as escalating tensions continue in the Central Provinces. Peace....may we never grow weary or tired of praying for the miracle of reconciliation between the two parties.  We the church continue to speak the promises of God for those who cannot.  We the church stand strong in the face of the enemy with our shields of faith lifted high to protect those who are suffering.  We the church remain courageous as others run in fear.  We the church must be heard as Truth sets a nation and her people free.  We the church are effecting a nation. Thank you for standing with us for Mozambique as you pray for peace.  It is on it's way as the Prince of Peace reigns in His people.

We bless your comings and your goings.  We appreciate and are so grateful for your connection. You are touching lives through your prayers and gifts.

Together for His Glory!

Here are just a few of the faces of the children of Coutinho.
The older generation is making Jesus Lord of their lives.  Usually, the older people respond, "My life is almost over. Let the young ones receive Jesus." These men are now living in the joy of life knowing it is eternal.
"Thank you Lord " was her testimony as she powerfully shared her testimony.
After praying to receive Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, Fatima suddenly smiled throwing off her burdens unto Him.
He just received Jesus and was gazing at his daughter as she celebrated his decision.
This AWYesu Vocational student has just completed his race at the Beach Festival prior to his graduation.
This "Baby Lion 1972" is learning to roar early for the Tribe of Judah!
Come run the race with us!
