2015-2016 Annual Report
The 2015-2016 IC-IMPACTS Annual Report is now available.
Through the Centre’s researchers, students, and partners, IC-IMPACTS has created 170 multi-sector partnerships, engaged 12 different communities, and has deployed technologies into 6 of these communities. Researchers from 45 different academic institutions have produced 265 research publications, and of the 30 students who have graduated, 100% of them are employed.

IC-IMPACTS Concludes 2016 Summer Institute in Edmonton
IC-IMPACTS hosted its 2016 Summer Institute at the University of Alberta earlier this month. The program brought 50 graduate students from across Canada and India to learn about nanotechnology innovations in the infrastructure, water, and health sectors. The week-long program also gave students an opportunity to build their presentation and entrepreneurship skills. The 2016 Summer Institute was a great success as it inspired students to use their advancements to better society.

Centre's Tuberculosis Project Published in Journal
Dr. Madhukar Pai, an IC-IMPACTS funded researcher, recently published a new paper in the Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health. The paper shares many details of his IC-IMPACTS project and how his research team is improving Tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment in India by enhancing the role of pharmacists.
The paper highlights the challenges pharmacists currently face in India’s current healthcare system and urges the need for a paradigm shift as pharmacists can significantly help in proper disease detection and diagnosis.

Scholarship for International Students closes June 30!
The Pradeep Khare Memorial Scholarship (developed in memory of Pradeep Khare by his family) will close on June 30, 2016. International graduate students from India studying at a Canadian institution can apply for a $2500 scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, drive, leadership, self-reflection, and a desire to use their privileged education in order to give back to their community, and who has financial need.
