May Trip to Montreal
Dear friends, last month Jillian and I planned a trip to Montreal to visit our great friend Dwight Bernier, executive pastor of Church 21, and his wife Jessica. Not only was it a blessing to see our friends but it was clear that God had been preparing an even greater purpose to our trip. Shortly after our trip was already planned the director of Extend invited us to join a workshop that happened to take place during our brief visit. This was something that we didn't plan for but the timing ended up being divinely appointed. Through this workshop, along with several other families who are fundraising for ministry in QC, Jillian and I were encouraged to see so many different people called to one common vision, asking God to change neighborhoods and cities in Montreal and Quebec through the message of the Gospel.
During our trip Jillian and Haven and I spent a day in one of Montreal's 19 boroughs, a (relatively) small area called Verdun, where we are prayerfully considering locating. With a population of roughly 66,000 (65% French speaking, 21% English) Verdun is a strategic location as we seek to expand the network of city groups throughout the city of Montreal. Our goal (part of the collaborative vision of Transforme Quebec) is that the Gospel would be represented in each area of the city and every region of the province over the next 40 years. With your support I'm confident that we will see the Holy Spirit work in amazing ways.
