Dear <<First Name>>

It’s been a busy and exhilarating first half year with our fourth tour about to go on the road.

Below you will find information about the application process for the Tasmania Performs Annual Artist Residency 21-23 Oct.  Jeff Michel pitched his first play idea at the 2013 residency and by 2016 it had been produced by Blue Cow Theatre and toured across the State by Tasmania Performs. If you are keen to try new things and make new performance, I suggest you get your Expression of Interest in!

Justus Neumann, and his multi award winning ALZHEMIER SYMPHONY toured to Canberra and received rave reviews>>

AS WE FORGIVE by Tom Holloway was presented in partnership with the Griffin Theatre (home of new Australian writing) in Sydney.  It was a treat to send performer Robert Jarman back to his old stomping ground after so long away.

There have been exciting developments with THE SEASON by Nathan Maynard, which also began its life at the 2013 Residency.  We secured 100K from the Australia Council Theatre Panel and with assistance from Ten Days presented the project to national and international delegates at the Major Festivals Initiative meeting in Melbourne.  More news on that project soon.

Julie Waddington is busy preparing the 7 week tour of Blue Cow Theatre’s, SIMON'S FINAL SOUND by Finegan Kruckemeyer to Burnie and 13 venues nationally beginning in July.  And Kelly Drummond Cawthon has been co-ordinating Mature Moves>> the Tasmania Performs Global Dance Gathering in September, being staged in conjunction with Salamanca Moves.  I’ve also been busy as a member of the assessment panels for the Vic Showcase, Australian Performing Arts Exchange, the Australian Dance Awards and attending the International Society of Performing Arts in Melb.

Best regards
Annette Downs
