Breastfeeding USA Volunteer of the Quarter
Congratulations! It is with much excitement that we announce the volunteer of the quarter for Breastfeeding USA: Kate Nadeau!
Kate has been a member of Breastfeeding USA since early 2012, and she became accredited as a Breastfeeding Counselor in May 2013, starting the first chapter in Massachusetts. She now operates the Greater Western MA Chapter with Rachael Lawrence Fisher.
Kate began volunteering with the National Organization in September 2013, as an interviewer with the Applications Team. Kate became co-manager of the Applications Team in 2014; in March 2015 she became the sole manager of the Applications Team when her fellow co-manager, Ashley Price retired from the position. In the last year, the applications team and process have undergone many changes necessary in a growing national organization, including revamping the recommendation forms and processes as well as updating the application. Kate has been invaluable in making these important changes! Applications is the doorway to our organization for potential BCs. Kate manages her workgroup with energy and dedication that we could not do without!
Kate makes her home in western MA with her husband and their three sons, ages two, five, and 12. Kate is employed as the marketing manager for an industrial automation firm, although she is provided the luxury of working from home half the time. Kate is active in a number of local mothering groups in her community and her church, where she volunteers her time as well. She was previously her oldest son's cub scout leader and is looking forward to taking on that role again as her other sons get older.
Please join us as we recognize and thank Kate for her continued efforts to promote the growth of Breastfeeding USA.
