27 June 2016 // Open Forum // The Trade Mark Stream
Trade Mark ImageEarly Bird Registration ends 30 June 2016

Now in its 25th year, FICPI’s Open Forum has gained an enviable reputation for the quality of its working sessions and speakers.  The 16th Forum will be no different, following the well-established three-stream format, with specialised sessions for patent attorneys and trade mark attorneys alike, and an enhanced focus on increasingly critical business practice issues for the independent professional and private firm.

Trade Mark ImageThe Trade Mark Stream

The Trademark Stream is well known for covering diverse topics, some with humour.  This year will be no different.

For Intellectual Property practitioners and litigators, a panel will look at the intricacies of multi-jurisdiction litigation, using the Apple v Samsung situation as its example.  Another panel will discuss the issue of search orders, including state authority cooperation.

In terms of less contentious trade-mark topics, panels will look at issues involving:
  • Trademark Co-existence and Its Effects on Rights;
  • Trademark Practice beyond the Roman alphabet (particularly apt given the venue of this forum); and
  • The problem that will likely never go away - unauthorised use of Trademarks on the Internet.
We look forward to seeing you in St Petersburg.
Correction: In FICPI News dated 20 June 2016, it was incorrectly stated that the B+ Group Meeting Report took place in October 2016. The B+ Group Meeting took place in October 2015.
