SAFEGUARDING NOTICE
Further to the Bishop’s Ad Clerum, there are three important new local policies that all clergy need to be aware of and to take action upon as needed including cascading to others in their team:

1. Safeguarding Training, Learning and Development;
2. Managing sex offenders who wish to worship in one of our churches;
3. Visiting clergy/ ministers.

Churchyard Trees Conferences
The Church of England has some 10,000 churchyards, providing 'green lungs' as well as
habitats for a wide range of wildlife.
Two conferences will present the same programme featuring churchyard and tree experts, providing a day of presentations and workshops in churchyard tree care and identification, legislative framework for works to trees and support with interpreting this natural heritage to the local community. Dates and venues are:

2016 Church Competition
This year’s Ecclesiastical church competition is titled ‘Reaching out, Inviting in - Churches Helping Communities.’
If you and your church are working tirelessly to bring your communities together, there is a top prize of £10,000 and five runners-up prizes of £2,000.  No idea is too small – making a difference to the community is what counts! The deadline for entries is 31 August 2016.
