June update – Doing More With Less
FoL’s 23 June ‘Doing More with Less’ conference on sustainable revenue at local level is two days away. The date is momentous because of the EU Referendum, but the event marks other changes too. The GLA’s David Lunts will update us on City Hall direction; LSE’s Tony Travers and LCA’s Robert Gordon Clark will read the tea leaves on referendum and devolution impacts on London; and speakers including Croydon’s Jo Negrini and Thames Valley’s Geeta Nanda will track the seismic shift in public-sector thinking, while afternoon breakouts will provide technical and strategic guidance.
The conference is at capacity, with more than 200 cross-sector decision-makers from FoL’s 2,500-strong network, but you can join the reserve list — email events@futureoflondon.org.uk to register interest. Huge thanks again to Countryside Properties and Bilfinger GVA for keeping this useful event free!
Fittingly, much of our current programme addresses new ways to fund housing, workspace and urban realm, as you’ll see in the highlights below. Members can also join us for the next Housing Zones Network seminars, on getting the best from Transport (5 July) and Density (26 July). Email hzn@futureoflondon.org.uk to sign up.
Finally, following a GREAT final presentation and grad night with FLL Round 12, nominations are now open for the autumn 2016 rounds of Future London Leaders and Leaders Plus. We’re contacting organisations whose turn is up in the rota, but if you have — or are! — a prospective candidate, drop us a line!

Over the last few months our Workspace programme has taken us to a diverse range of workspaces throughout London. Build to Rent field trips

As part of our Making the Most of Build to Rent in London research programme, we are organising a series of field trips to new and upcoming Build to Rent schemes throughout London. Our first field trip took place on 15 June to Ealing. The next field trip, on 6 July, will look at Build to Rent in Poplar. Send us an email to request a place.
