Fun with Father 2016

Saturday, August 6, will be a special day for dads at the Forsyth Correctional Center and their children. Our ministry is planning a day filled with recreational activities designed to nurture healthy relationships, increase problem-solving skills, build trust, and challenge fears. Inmates will use fathering techniques learned from parenting classes to love and encourage their children.

Statistically speaking, children of inmates:
  • Are six times more likely to be involved in criminal behavior;
  • Experience learning and behavioral difficulty in school;
  • Often live in low-income housing and receive governmental assistance.
Our program is beating the odds by strengthening and restoring families.Through parenting discussion and application, inmate families are strengthened, and at-risk children receive much-needed affirmation for success.

You can help, and here's how:
  • Pray for the inmates in their relationships with their children;
  • Support this program financially--your gift of $150 will help buy t-shirts, food, and school supplies for book bags;
  • Donate school supplies--notebook paper, composition books, pencils, pens, crayons, coloring pencils, etc.
Thank you for participating with us as we work to unite the hearts of fathers to their children!

"Having a parent incarcerated is a stressful, traumatic experience of the same magnitude as abuse, domestic violence, and divorce, with a potential lasting negative impact on a child's well-being." - A Shared Sentence, The Annie E, Casey Foundation--April 2016
