We're proud to announce that The City of Calgary’s Building Maintenance Bylaw was approved by City Council today.

The bylaw aims to better protect the public by requiring that the exterior of Calgary’s buildings be visually assessed for necessary repairs every five years. It will help to proactively identify potentially hazardous situations before they occur.

We would like to thank all stakeholders involved in the creation and refinement of the bylaw for your hard work and valuable input. It was critical to the success of this complex project.

This won't be the last you hear from us, but this newsletter may become less frequent as we move into the next phase of education and implementation. We will continue to engage building owners and operators, industry associations and housing groups as we develop tools to assist with compliance and inform Calgarians of the bylaw requirements.

We'll continue to keep you informed.
