Achieving Equity with Results Based Accountability (Webinar)

Wednesday, July 13, 2016 1:00-2:30 AM EST

This webinar will focus on how to use the framework and tools of results-based accountability to achieve greater equity through the power of disaggregating data to discover the true picture of racial equality in a community and how to develop the broad range of strategies required to address those most impacted as part of an overall community strategy.

During the webinar you will hear from Dan Duncan with Clear Impact (formerly Results Based Leadership) and Simran Noor with the Center for Social Inclusion. Noor will feature stories of success from the Government Alliance on Racial Equity membership network.

New fellowship opportunity from the Open Society Foundation (OSF)

OSF has just launched a new Leadership in Government Fellowship. The fellowship is for senior-level government officials and staff in the United States who have recently left public service and share the commitment to advancing open society in America.

OSF will award individual grants in 2016 to people who have played a significant role in advancing social change from within government in the United States at the local, state, or federal levels. They are looking for public-sector leaders interested in using this fellowship opportunity to reflect on their time in government and to undertake a project that advances policy ideas and inserts their unique perspectives about driving change from within government into the public dialogue.

The Government Alliance for Racial Equity (GARE) would love to work with any of the fellows who were and are leaders advancing racial equity in government.

The fellowship is a pilot grant-making project and is part of a larger effort within OSF to invest in new voices that inform and challenge our collective thinking.

Applications and proposals are due July 15, 2016.

Much appreciation to OSF for this new, forward-thinking, action-oriented opportunity!

Equity & Inclusion Manager with Multnomah County Library (closes Friday, July 1, 2016).

From the announcement:
“There's a lot of talk these days about equity and inclusion. Everyone has something to say about best practices that work and those that don't. There's talk about what needs to be done and who needs to do it. There's no shortage of discourse - that's for sure... but, you know that. And, you know that's not enough.

You do more. You walk the talk. You make things happen.

You are a diversity champion with a deep understanding of equity and inclusion work. This is your passion. You are a change agent, with a demonstrated history of making significant impacts around equity and inclusion in large organizations. You know your stuff. You're a roll-up-the-sleeves and get-down-to-business type who has seen the positive results equity and inclusion work can make in an organization. You're just the type of person we want on our team.”
