If Heaven is Real. . .
. . .and it is, I wonder often what I am doing to show my loved ones the way there. As the music group the Newsboys say:
"Chasing after this world makes me tired
Praisin’ my own name leaves me dry
There’s gotta be so much more to life than this
A higher calling that I missed
I want my life to count"
For those of us who have been rescued from eternal separation from God, our calling is now "to make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). So to me, that means every day asking myself to allow God to woo those made in His image back to Him through my hands and feet. . .through your hands and feet.
Below is one of my favorite songs--this one is about the existence of heaven and what it will be like for those who know God--not know that He exists and call out to Him a few times a year, but those who have surrendered their life to Him above all, praised Him as Lord, and asked to receive His covering for their sins. It doesn't sit well with me that there are so many that haven't. I don't want to sit back with my eternity in heaven secure (and the God of the universe giving me grace to handle life in the here and now) while others like those I love dearly do not know the way yet. Summer Serve
Yesterday, a member of a church in Richardson called me and asked if she could lead her small group through a Bible drive for UBO this summer. Absolutely, I answered! Whether you go to your church offices and ask for the lost & found Bibles that no one has claimed and can be donated to UBO or whether you ask your small groups to go out and collect new $2, $3, or $5 Bibles for us, we ask you to consider a Bible drive this summer. Great for kids to get involved in as well!

3rd Quarter Kick-Off
We will be meeting 3rd quarter needs this summer for those organizations needing Bibles for their back-to-school activities, general outreach, or in preparation for Fall events. Please pray for the resources to provide for these needs as well as for God to direct us to the biggest spiritual needs in our community. Stay tuned for pictures from what will no doubt be an awesome summer of meeting Bible needs!
