Expo Fest 2017 Dates and Theme Announced!

Skills21 is thrilled to be back for a second year at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut, for Expo Fest 2017— Friday, May 19th through Saturday, May 20th. Expo Fest is the ultimate showcase of inspired learning, creative design, and student solutions to real world challenges influenced by a theme. In 2017 Expo Fest will challenge students with the theme Fresh Perspectives as a tool for inspiration and project direction. Students will tackle this yearlong challenge via Skills21 Launchpad.

Friday Red Carpet Challenges!

The Red Carpet Film Event on Friday May 19th will feature the popular 84 Hour Film Challenge with new awards highlighting Best Screenplay, Editing, Cinematography, and Acting. Challenges also include the following: 90 Second Challenge, Animation Short, Documentary, Middle School 90 Second Challenge, and brand new challenges for News Story Segment, Action Sequence, 3-2-1 Comedy Challenge, and an Open Challenge. Registration, specific challenge criteria, and deadline information will be posted on expofest.skills21.org under Filmmakers.

Saturday Expo Fest Challenges!

The Exhibition Floor and presentation pitches are open on Saturday for the flagship Skills21 Academy, a challenge that combines Science and Math with Technology to produce an interdisciplinary project backed by research, experimentation, and data analysis. Students teams can also compete in category specific areas such as Open NGSS, Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Engineering & Math including the Sikorsky STEM Challenge, and the new CT Aeronautical Engineering Challenge sponsored by Pratt & Whitney. Keep an eye out over at expofest.skills21.org for updated challenge details because new challenges are still in the works!

Expo Fest participation is open to any students with a teacher mentor. For more information on how to participate contact Skills21.

The Skills21 team is looking forward to 2016 Learn21. Each day will have the same program, we encourage you to attend one of these dates.

The dates and location for Learn21 are August 9 & 11, from 8:30AM to 3:00PM at EDUCATION CONNECTION in Litchfield, CT.
