Watered or Withered Teenagers? A Note From Our Pastor
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away" (Psalm 1:1-4).
In Psalm 1, we read about two different people (the "Blessed" and the "Wicked") who have two very different influences. The Blessed individual is not influenced by sin or the world (ignoring the counsel of the wicked, path of sinners, and seat of scoffers), but they’re influenced by God’s Word (delight in the law). However, the opposite is true for the wicked. The truth is, every teenager is influenced by one of two things: the Word of God or the World. In other words, teenagers are either like trees firmly planted by streams of water or streams of wickedness. They are either Watered by the Word or Withered by the World.
Our prayer at Center is for your teenager to prosper by growing in the Word of God! Mom and Dad, we would love to partner with you this summer in asking the Lord to lead the withered teenager to Christ and to keep the watered teenager meditating on God’s Word day and night. Below are a few things that Center is doing to help your child plant him or herself in the Word.
Thank you for allowing us to minister to your students this year!
For His Glory and your student’s good,
