Welcome to the latest bulletin from the Community Therapists Network.

Transforming Community Neurology - How?
Hopefully, the first commissioning guide, on delivering community neurology care is a key step in answering that question. There are three parts to the report and the first is a really short read with some key messages about building services around the patient, in line with the Five Year Forward View from NHS England. In the coming months the Community Neurology Project hopes to build upon the advice within this report by learning from some current transformation programmes. We will keep you up dated on any developments with the project, but to read the first commissioning guide on 'Transformation' click hereLook out for our special bulletin when we will report from the NHS England Community Neurology Project Conference on 'Transforming Community Neurology'.

Measuring the true impact of spasticity in people with MS

Cueing and improving gait in Parkinson's
"Cueing (a visual, audible or tactile signal used as a prompt or instruction, for example, to lift a leg and take a step) improves festinating gait and decreases the incidence of Freezing of Gait, according to the results of a research study published in International Journal of Gerontology. This study which you can read about here, was with a very small sample size and therefore, future studies with much larger sample size will be needed in order to support these initial findings.
