Thank You!

Big thanks to all those who came out and supported our 2nd Annual Juke Box Mania - With your help and a dedicated committee led by our very own Tammy Laundrie, we were able to raise almost $10,000 to go back into strengthening the community.  Congratulations to the winning teams!
In Solidarity

It saddens me that there continues to be harsh treatment and judgement of survivors and minimizing of a crime that has the potential to rob a person of so much- their dignity, their safety and their trust in the world. Sexual assault, whether in childhood or in adulthood, can impair a person’s ability to have meaningful long term relationships; it can also impact all areas of functioning. Can you imagine trying to get through the day haunted by flashbacks, always on guard for potential danger or feeling dirty and ashamed? Can you imagine being consumed with thoughts of self-blame and trying to make sense of why it happened? Can you imagine the sense of powerlessness and rage you might feel at having your whole world shattered and feeling like there is little recourse for this horrific violation?

Last month was Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  Many of our clients are survivors.  Sadly, Sexual Assault is still the lowest reported violent crime and its rate of reporting and conviction continues to be dismally low.

Thank you to all our major sponsors and donors!
Did you know a dad's emotion coaching has a huge positive impact on all areas of children's development?  We have a veteran therapist with over 30 years experience "coaching" men in our United Way supported "Healthy Living" group offered every Monday night.  If you know a dad who could benefit, send him our way!
