Thousands of Haringey pupils take the stage at Royal Albert Hall


2,000 of Haringey’s young students performed in the world class Royal Albert Hall in Kensington this week for the 2016 Haringey Schools’ Music Festival. Watch a clip of the performance below:

Haringey Cabinet Member for Customer Services and Culture, Councillor Bernice Vanier said: “It’s fantastic that thousands of Haringey children performed at one of the most prestigious music venues in the world. The creativity, passion and diversity on display at the Haringey Schools’ Music Festival made the evening an amazing celebration of our young people.”

Haringey Heroes


In just five days nearly 300 residents have been nominated as Haringey Heroes. Our Haringey Heroes include hundreds of people who do amazing things in our borough everyday including:

PCSO Lisa Pantelista and PC Glynn Kelly who have served Harringay ward for a combined total of around 32 years.
Emily Wood from Muswell Hill and founder of Family First Aiders which teaches Baby First Aid to families across Haringey.
James Floyde is a volunteer in Russell Park, Wood Green who manages the flower and vegetable gardens he set up around five years ago.

Marcus Garvey Centre opens its doors




The Marcus Garvey Centre – Library  and Customer Services opened this week after a £3million refurbishment. The revamped library has state of the art IT, more computers and 22,000 new books.

Haringey stands together, united


Since the EU referendum the diverse communities who live in Haringey have stood together, united. Read an open letter from Eugene Ayisi (Cabinet Member for Haringey Communities) and Chief Superintendant Helen Millichap (Borough Commander).
