Building Up, Moving Forward

According to the Minnesota State Department of Natural Resources, wildlife rehabilitators across the state will handle about 9,000 wild animals each year. Last year Wildwoods alone admitted over 1,100 animals. With only 850 square feet of space to care for all these animals it became clear that we had to move on to a bigger, more specialized facility. So the difficult decision was made to purchase property and begin construction on a new 5,000+ square foot facility.

Support Our Growth

We have admitted over 600 animals so far this year and are on our way to breaking last year's record of 1,100 wild animals. We've been doing this out of limited space and through construction, and there's still a lot more to do. Will you consider making a tax deductible donation to help us pay for the new facility? Donate securely online or mail checks to Wildwoods, Attn: Support Our Growth, PO Box 3161, Duluth MN 55803

Our Due Diligence

We didn't want to build our new facility at the expense of other animals or their habitat. Learn about the steps we took to make sure our new buildings are as environmentally friendly as possible.

The Eastern Gray Squirrel

Eastern grays are ubiquitous in Minnesota. They are everywhere and are one of the few species that thrive in the midst of urban sprawl. To those of us at Wildwoods they are valuable members of our ecosystem and one of the most common critters admitted as orphans.
