Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun and Dodgers CF Joc Pederson both produced at the plate when their teams squared off Tuesday, with Pederson lining an RBI single and Braun a two-run double. Although the Dodgers went on to win 6-5, things did not end well for Pederson, who barrelled into the center field wall to make a game-saving catch in the 8th inning but collapsed to the ground in pain afterward. The good news, according to the Los Angeles Times, is that an x-ray of Pederson's shoulder revealed a bruised joint but no fracture.
Houston P Scott Feldman, who was relegated to the bullpen after going 0-2 with a 4.58 ERA in his first four starts of the season, made the most of his first start in two months Tuesday. The 12th-year player was dominant over five innings, yielding only three singles, one unearned run, and no walks as the Astros beat the Angels 7-1. Feldman, who tossed only 65 pitches, replaced scheduled starter Lance McCullers, who sat out with a blister.
Toronto CF Kevin Pillar went 3-for-6 with his 20th double and two RBIs in a 14-9 win over Colorado.
Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler stroked a double in a 7-5 win over Miami.
Oakland's bats went crazy Tuesday in a 13-11 win over San Francisco, but surprisingly, 3B Danny Valencia was not part of the hit parade, going hitless for only the fifth time this month.
Reliever Richard Bleier did not play in the Yankees' 7-1 loss to Texas.
