Father, please continue to watch over, guide and protect your chosen priests
of the Companions of the Cross.

Give them the courage, strength, wisdom and vision to lead your church to mission.

May their parishioners give our Lord Jesus Christ permission to work within their lives so they become the disciples they were born to be.

Mother Mary, it was your yes that changed the whole world.  Embrace these holy men with your love, protect them from harm, especially when they are vulnerable and relying on their own humanity.

Pour your graces into their hearts and souls and always bring them back to the foot of your cross to rejoice and praise your Holy name forever and ever Sweet Jesus.

Strengthsfinder ...  followup

On June 4, at our monthly Lay Associates gathering, we invited Donna Cashman to present an overview of Clifton Strengthsfinder  ....  here is a follow-up from Fr. Rob:

At the end of our last meeting with Donna, I made what I thought was a passing comment about the uniqueness of the gifts that we all have been given; that the likelihood of someone else having the same gifts in the same order is as great
as a billion to one.  At the most there might be 6 other people on the planet with
your gift fingerprint.  But let’s push the odds just a little more, there may have
never been a single other person in the history of creation that is the same
combination and order of giftedness as you have now, is that not amazing!

And this brings me to my point; if each of us is so special and so unique, then
would it not be a shame if those gifts were never put into practice for the Kingdom,
if the one-time combination that is you were never to reach your full potential.

I encourage all of you to take the test and to see just what talent or ability might
be lying dormant just under the surface of your experience. Read the book, and
if you need help with the online stuff - just ask (there are people with that gift waiting). Would it not be a great thing to awaken all the gifts contained within our parish and bring them into play?  Now that would be a parish renewed and a church restored!

Pax,
Fr. Rob

Lay Associates Spring Retreat
Our annual retreat was held April 22 & 23 at St Elizabeth Seton.

For His Mercy is Great was the theme, very appropriate for this Year
of Mercy.  We celebrated mass, had wonderful Praise & Worship music, powerful and inspiring talks and witnesses, and a very moving Way
of the Cross.  As always, fantastic fellowship & food was enjoyed by all!

Our next regularly scheduled Lay Associates gathering will be held Saturday, September 10.  Details
will follow in early September.

We wish everyone a safe, happy and relaxing summer. Peace & Blessings,
CC Lay Associates Planning Team
