Welcome to the June edition of The Slice. The Slice is our monthly publication and is published during the off season. It replaces My Mango which is our weekly publication that is disturbed every Monday during the harvest season.

Calibration and application workshops

Following on from the successful calibration and application workshops held in the Northern Territory, organised by Vanderfield Machinery, a series of sprayer calibration and application workshops will be held in several regions in Queensland.
Workshops will be held at the following orchards:

Mareeba/Dimbulah
Tuesday 12th July, 8.00am to 12 noon
Sam & Kylie Collins, Blushing Acres,  66017 Burke Development Road, Dimbulah

Ayr
Wednesday 13th July,  9.00am to 1.00pm
Manbulloo Packing Shed , Cnr Bruce Highway and Trembath Road, Giru.

Bowen
Thursday 14th July, 8.00am to 12 noon
Wilbowman farm, Lower Don Road, Bowen

 
Childers
Friday 15th July, 9.00am to 1.00pm

Export applications – due by Friday 15th July

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has released industry advice notices for the following:

  • USA, China, Korea: orchard and pack house application forms
  • Japan, China and Korea: Treatment facility application forms

Growers interested in exporting to the USA, China and/or Korea need to have submitted their applications to AMIA by Friday 15th July.

If you intend to be involved in any of these markets, please review the documents, understand the requirements and ensure they are submitted on or before the due date.  Please call AMIA if you would like further information or assistance.
