Creating a Community Engagement Playbook

Researchers at Georgia Tech are working with the City of Atlanta, the Atlanta Housing Authority, and the Westside Future Fund to develop a community engagement playbook.

The group has been working closely over the past year with Christopher Le Dantec, assistant professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, to implement a process for a more open-ended, narrative-based approach to engagement. The goal is to create a set of resources—a playbook—to help guide city departments, community organizations, and local residents on how to work together more effectively on planning and development projects around the city.

WCC, MODA to Host Wearable Technology Panel Discussions

Starting this month, the Georgia Tech Wearable Computing Center, in partnership with the Museum of Design Atlanta, will host of series of panel discussions on the future of wearable technology. The discussions complement the exhibit On You: Wearing Technology, on display at MODA through October 2nd.

8th Annual Conference on Health and Humanitarian Logistics

The Georgia Tech Center for Health & Humanitarian Systems (CHHS) will host a global conference next month on challenges and new solutions in disaster preparedness and response, long-term development and humanitarian aid, and global health delivery. The 8th annual Conference on Health and Humanitarian Logistics (HHL) will take place August 29th – 31st at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, connected to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.
