This has been a long time in the making, but we are proud to present you with our first Monthly Newsletter!

It will be hitting your inboxes on the first Monday of the month to update you on the activities, events and achievements at The Community Grocer.

Harmony Day in Carlton a HUGE success!
While rain threatened all day, the skies cleared up for a chilly, but heart-warming, Harmony Day event in Carlton on Friday 24 June. From 3pm, locals gathered to listen to music, share stories and break the fast with a truly incredible meal cooked by some local residents (with produce from the market - of course!).

The Community Grocer was there running a fruit stall for all the hungry kids - and fruit skewers were definitely a popular choice!

Harmony Day is an opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity in our community. This year, it was supported by City of Melbourne and Carlton Local Agencies Network, as well as a number of other smaller agencies and individuals.

Social Traders Crunch Program
The Community Grocer graduated from the Social Traders Crunch program in June 2016, with a business model and financials for the next few years in place!

Many thanks must go out to the City of Melbourne, who supported us through this program. It was a great opportunity to meet with a number of fellow social enterprises doing great things including Not-For-Profit Law and HoMiE!

SPECIALS THIS MONTH!
With the cold weather comes beautiful, sweet citrus and broccoli galore!

We have introduced tangellos to our fruit line, alongside the trusty mandarin and orange. Oranges are selling around $1 per kg* - stock up on your Vitamin C!

We have broccoli as well as brussel sprouts, cauli's and cabbage. Perfect for roasting, stir frying and boiling for winter warmness!
