Praise God for continued guidance and help as we prepare to move to Thailand to minister to the orphans, widows and minority groups in Burma affected by conflict and oppression. There have been many trials for us as we continue this journey and we praise God for them, as we keep walking in His will and timing. Click here for more of the story...
The Lord is so good! It is a great relief to know that we are continuing to move ahead in our mission work. As many of you know, Shepherd's Staff has agreed to handle finances for us and we will be working with Partners Relief and Development in Thailand as we begin to help Burma's minority groups. Just last week, God has also provided a ministry coach to help us during this process of preparation!
During recent weeks I have been able to work with an organization that is doing ministry among refugees from Burma right here in Kansas City. It has been wonderful working with them and is creating an even greater desire to be in Thailand soon to serve God there.
Please keep us in your prayers, especially Esther, as she has one more medical procedure to go through in July. Pray for strength and a speedy recovery. Pray for fruitfulness during this time of preparation to go and for God's provision.
Thank you so much for your love and support! You are in our prayers, please let us know what we can pray specifically for you by replying to this letter.
In Christ's Service,
Jeff & Esther
Remembering Rose
At a small hut just outside of a refugee camp on the Thai-Burma border, Steve and Oddny Gumaer met Rose Mu and a small toddler girl that had just been found in the jungle. Rose had started taking care of orphans in her home. Steve and Oddny decided that day to help Rose take care of the little girl with a $30 monthly pledge and this is how Partner's Relief and Development began.
Rose was an amazing woman that loved Jesus and loved children. She set the example for Partners and her legacy lives on through them! Partners supported Rose's orphanage and it grew to over 60 kids. She saw Jesus in each child. In each dirty, sick, lonely, afraid, hurt and hungry little child, she saw a person that was created by God, whose value was eternal, whose life mattered. She was willing to give her life for those children and, ultimately, she did.
Unfortunately, that camp has been leveled to the ground, and the other children and staff from the orphanage are now scattered but the legacy of her life still guides Partners today. The values she promoted are what we believe as well.
