The U.S. Space & Rocket Center Foundation is proud to announce its second annual Concert in Shuttle Park, coming on Saturday, July 16, and we’re celebrating the 80s this year!

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the major motion picture, “Space Camp,” so this year’s installment of the concert series revels in the decade that catapulted a small youth camp in North Alabama into a cultural icon.

What celebration would be complete without the soundtrack of the decade? This is the outdoor concert event of the summer! The 80s were big! Come relive the excess of it all… big hair, big lights, and big sounds.

Proceeds from the ‘Totally 80’s Concert in Shuttle Park’ benefit the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation’s Space Camp General Scholarship Fund.

Calhoun Community College Tech Prep, in conjunction with the Morgan County and Limestone County Economic Development Associations, hosted 'Teachers On Tour' on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 14 & 15. The program was designed to generate greater awareness among high school academic teachers of the importance of applied learning in the classroom and provide these educators with information about career opportunities in technology and health care fields.

Nine teachers from schools throughout the Calhoun service area took part in this event which included tours of ULA, 3M, Athens Limestone Hospital and Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc., as well as tours of Calhoun’s technology and Health Sciences building.

Thanks to all the advisors and instructors who participated and made the first ever 'Teachers on Tour' event a success.
