Tweet your pitches to our agents at TKA's first ever Twitter pitch fest tomorrow!
The Knight Agency Newsletter: Write. Read. Repeat.

In celebration of The Knight Agency reaching the momentous landmark of our 20th Anniversary next month, we are launching our festivities early! It’s going to be an exciting month, filled with giveaways, special promotions, and more! To kick it all off, we’re going to hold our first ever Twitter pitch fest!

#TKA20 will be an all-day event where you can directly tweet your pitches to the TKA agent team! We’ll be taking pitches from 9 am Eastern until 5 pm Eastern tomorrow, June 29th. The rules are below, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Guidelines and Rules for #TKA20

1: #TKA20 pitch fest will be held from 9 am until 5 pm Eastern.

2: Please direct your tweet to our hashtag of #TKA20 at large, but not to specific agents. Agents will like pitches of material they want to receive.

3: Once an agent likes your pitch, please send the first three chapters *by attachment* in Word to submissions@knightagency.net.

4: Please include the original #TKA20 pitch and your query in the body of the email, and to reiterate, please *attach* the first three chapters of your manuscript in Word.

5: What if more than one agent likes your pitch? Exciting! But please only send to the *first* agent who likes the material, as we cannot consider material simultaneously.

6: In the subject line of your email, please state: “#TKA20” along with the *Requesting Agent’s Name*.

7: Which agents will be participating? Here’s the exciting lineup: Deidre Knight, Pamela Harty, Elaine Spencer, Melissa Jeglinski, Travis Pennington, Nephele Tempest, Kristy Hunter, and Janna Bonikowski.

8: Genres we are most excited to see include: women’s fiction, YA, MG, Romance of all subgenres, LGBT fiction and m/m romance, thrillers, mysteries, nonfiction, and fantasy.

9: Agents will begin sharing their particular wish-list items in advance of 6/29, although again, all #TKA20 pitches should be directed generally on the day of the event.

10: You may retweet your pitch periodically, so long as no agent has already liked your tweet, although we suggest wording it slightly differently if your first pitch did not catch our attention. However, please do not tweet your pitch more than five times throughout the course of the event.

11: You may also use additional hashtags, but they’re not necessary. Here are additional choices:

#RS=Romantic Suspense

#WF=Women’s Fiction

#YA=Young Adult

#MG=Middle Grade

#MC=Multicultural

#M=Mystery

#CM=Cozy Mystery

#LGBT=LGBT Fiction or Nonfiction

#MM=Male/Male Romance

#CR=Contemporary Romance

#PNR=Paranormal Romance

#INSP=Inspirational Fiction or Nonfiction

#NF=Nonfiction

#MEM=Memoir

TKA wants to welcome you to the RWA National Convention in San Diego, July 13–16, 2016. Once you get settled and registered at the conference, grab a drink and join Pamela Harty, Elaine Spencer, and Kristy Hunter poolside at the Tequila Bar and Grille at 4pm on Tuesday, July 12th. Our agents will be chatting informally with conference attendees, answering any lingering questions about the best way to navigate the conference during the week ahead, and helping participants practice their pitches!
