AGM 2016 Essen


The 2016 ESA AGM took place in mid May. In total 38 member companies from around Europe and 112 people attended over the course of the 3 days where 8 scheduled meetings were held.

Elections update


As always in May at the AGM a number of people changed positions as their two-year appointment expires and some step down for personal or business reasons. A big thank you to all those that have now stepped down and welcome to the new team. In the Executive Committee, Michael Werner, Teadit steps down and we are pleased to report that Simone Wilson from IDT was elected to replace him. More >

When I graduated from university in 1974 the last business I expected to spend over 40 years enjoying was that of sealing technology. With a degree in Chemical Engineering I was all set for a glittering career designing chemical plants with one of those big prestigious petrochemical companies.

BPMA and the ESA sign a Cooperation Agreement

Message from Mike Shorts, FSA President

The FSA continues its active engagement in advocacy for the proper use of fluid sealing and containment devices. On June 6, several FSA members with operations in Canada formed a delegation and visited the Canadian Trade Delegation in Ottawa regarding their position on the next round of WTO Environmental Goods negotiations. The effort was to help strengthen the understanding of the negotiators of the magnitude of the fluid sealing and containment device industry in Canada and the positive impact that support of the Environmental Goods Agreement would have on export development opportunities. Website Careers area

 
Following the discussion at the AGM and in line with the ESA strategy discussion the ESA started work on the development of the Careers Area of the ESA website. The first meeting of the careers team will be the 12th August using the online meeting format. Topics to be discussed include structure of the website, organisations with Graduate Recruitment training programmes, Engaging ESA Personnel departments to post their graduate vacancies and others.
