Multiple generations in Teams

Dear Colleague

It is not new to say that there are now more generations working alongside each other than ever in history. But what does this mean for project managers?

This column has already commented on the benefits of different viewpoints for finding solutions, so the inclusion of different generations in project teams is, in itself, a "good thing".

It does however increase the complexity, particularly with regard to communications.  On both sides of the Atlantic it is very clear that different age groups have completely different styles and aspirations, with far more divergence between the generations than used to be the case.

For the project manager who subconsciously communicates only with the "oldies", there is a real danger of splitting the camp, which is the last thing needed.

A moderated online event is one way of minimising the risks.  To learn more, visit the Scatterwork Services page today.
