2016 State Budget Update
From Tim's Desk...

Welcome to my latest eNewsletter - Keeping you up-to-date with the 2016-17 State Budget and what it means for our local area.

Last month, the State Government delivered a budget of broken promises that relied on raiding $4 billion worth of public servants’ superannuation to prop up the budget black hole. Read more

No funding for South Pine and Stafford Roads Intersection

Desperately needed funding to fix traffic congestion at our worst bottleneck, the intersection of South Pine and Stafford Roads, Everton Park was missing from last month’s State Budget.

I am disappointed there is no end in sight to the long and frustrating wait to get through these traffic lights each day, particularly at peak hour. In wet weather last month three cars failed to take the corner turning right from Stafford into South Pine Road.

Happy Birthday Mitchelton Pharmacy
I recently had the privilege to help a local small business celebrate its 60th Birthday.  This is a great success story of a local businessman, Rill Garozzo, who opened a pharmacy in Blackwood Street, Mitchelton six decades ago.

While Rill unfortunately is no longer with us, his sons Rod and Peter have carried on the family tradition. Rod Garozzo now operates the pharmacy at Mitchelton.

At the recent 60th birthday celebrations it was good to see so many customers and clients come along to help the Garozzo family celebrate this important milestone.

Recently in Parliament

As the new Shadow Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Shadow Minister for Corrective Services, I have spent a lot of time recently in State Parliament holding the government to account for being soft on crime and having no plan to cope with prison overcrowding, putting at risk the safety of correctional staff.
Ensuring the safety of your family, your home and our community is my number one priority. In government, the LNP cut crime with stronger laws and more than 800 new police officers, and took a tough stance against criminal gangs to make Queensland safer. Only an LNP Government can deliver a safer future for our great state.
Keeping in Touch

As your local Member, I am always keen to understand your concerns and hear about the issues affecting you and your family the most.  I know not everybody has time during regular working hours to drop into my electorate office so I regularly hold mobile offices at places and times I hope are convenient for you.
