Greetings,

I hope your weekend was spent eating lots of barbecue, spending time with those you love and donning your best red, white and blue!

I'm curious to know, how do you pursue your happiness? Is it by working hard? Having lots of money? Being famous? Sometimes I wonder how happy famous people truly are, especially since the rate of mental illness among celebrities is much higher than the average population.

This week, my team at Rice Psychology Group did some research on this topic, specifically how celebrities discussing their own battles with mental health issues affects the way the rest of us see those difficulties. Since the stigma surrounding mental illness is still very strong, I encourage you to share the blog below with others. Hopefully, once they see that celebrities who are scrutinized every day are able to be open and honest about their struggles, they will build the courage to be able to as well.

Warmly,
