A Word from Our President

Greetings GRIN swimmers!

There are many things on the GRIN Board's agenda and we are working hard to improve Greater Indiana Masters Swimming for everyone.

As you know, we are currently updating the GRIN Bylaws. The 13-member committee has met via conference call four times and are planning to meet every other week in order to finalize the Bylaws by December. If you are interested in joining and having input for the new By-Laws, please let me know!

Later this month, the GRIN Board will travel to Kansas City for the USMS Annual Convention to share best practices with other LMSC's across the country, work through USMS rules and budgets, and vote in board elections. This yearly convention will be a first for 3 of our board members, so we should have some great ideas coming back.

We are looking to accept bids for the 2016 GRIN State Meet in the near future. Bidding details are being worked out, so stay tuned.

Finally, there are some great GRIN swim meets on the calendar for the fall; we would love to have more! Jump in and host your own meet. It's a great FUN-raiser for your team and helps build camaraderie for your swimmers. If you have questions about how to run a meet, just let us know.

Have a wonderful last few outdoor swimming days and see you in the pool!

Swimmingly,
Lisa L. Brown

Nominations Needed - Hardest Worker

You know who they are - the swimmers who show up early, stay late, and always give their best in the water. So, the trait we are focusing on this month is Hardest Worker. Who is the one person you think of gives their all in the water each day? Let us know who is the hardest working among your lane mates. Winners will be recognized in next month's newsletter.

Meet the Lake Central Masters Association

Swimming at Lake Central High School in St. John, the Lake Central Masters Association is a growing Masters program that encourages a healthier lifestyle through the sport of swimming. "Our coaches and members have created a camaraderie that encourages and challenges each other to go outside their comfort zones," says Coach Abby Homans. Check out their program and contact Coach Abby for additional information.
