I can't believe it! I can't believe I never sent out my June newsletter!!!!
It was so incredibly busy around my house that it never actually went out. I apologize and now I have a ton to catch you up on - let's start at the beginning!

First, the big news: I have a new series coming for you from Avon Impulse, beginning Sept. 27th!!! Plus, you get a sneak peek of the cover here:

Isn't it pretty? I think this is probably my favorite cover (and I've had some beautiful ones) but that makes it even more special since this is probably my favorite book I've written. I know, I usually can't pick a favorite but Bethany, James and Grant just touched a place in me like no other characters have. And that's saying a lot for me!

As usual, Summer is always a busy time of year in my house but this year is especially busy. With two boys playing football, my deadlines and Baby Girl coming home from college, we are also celebrating my sister's wedding! I'm so happy for her and my new brother-in-law and, trust me, it was one heck of a fun party! We even got my hubby out to dance!

As we sent them off to their honeymoon, tragedy struck our house. For those who know me, you know my fur-babies are like my kids and when one of your kids isn't feeling well, you can't rest. My little rescue Cocker came down sick. Within days, despite aggressive treatment, we lost our little girl. As hard as this has been for us, we were able to be with her for her final day and let her know how loved she was.

Rather than focus on sorrow (and you can bet Chloe will make an appearance in a book!) we continue to look ahead. And what lies ahead is my youngest child's 16th Birthday!!!

How is is possible that I have three children driving now? I still feel 29! As long as I feel 29, I can't possibly be any older, right?

We celebrated out not-so-little Sparky with a family party and fireworks. It's so strange to see him go from thinking the fireworks were the rest of the country celebrating his birthday (when he was 3) to him lighting the fireworks now for his younger cousin (who just had a birthday last week). Watching him yesterday, I'm so proud of the man he's becoming. He is truly becoming a hero from one of my stories, but without the baggage. 


And that takes us to today...on deadline and preparing for the Romancelandia event of the year - RWA! I'll be there, with so many author, blogger and reader friends that it's more like a vacation than work (as if my job already wasn't!) But this is a time when I get to learn about the latest in romance, writing and get to meet some great new authors. If you ever get a chance to attend, DO IT!
