Haringey Heroes


Over 300 residents have been nominated as Haringey Heroes for the goodwill, achievement and community spirit they show around the borough.

They include staff and pupils from twenty schools, sports coaches, musicians, police officers, doctors, carers and artists who support their neighbours, deliver outstanding public services and volunteer in the community.

Wireless Festival

Events like the Wireless Festival (8 – 10 July) make a huge contribution to London’s cultural scene and in Haringey bring in hundreds of thousands of pounds which is spent improving our parks and attracting more visitors. We work with residents and event organisers to ensure the Wireless is safe and enjoyable for all. More on the Wireless Festival.

New homes, new jobs and a new town centre


A shortlist of three bidders for the £2 billion regeneration programme to deliver at least 5,000 new homes, a new town centre in Wood Green and thousands more jobs has been announced this week.

Outstanding for All Awards 2016 nominations open


The Haringey Outstanding for All Awards are back and nominations are now open until late September. The awards celebrate exceptional education and achievement and include ten categories recognising outstanding contributions made by teachers, students, support staff, governors and community groups. Marcus Garvey Centre open 


The Marcus Garvey Centre - Library and Customer Services is open after a £3million refurbishment with 22,000 new books, the latest computers for residents to learn online skills and a dedicated Afro-Caribbean and Marcus Garvey section complete with a host of books on the Jamaican political leader.

North Middlesex Hospital


Following the publication of a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report into health services at North Middlesex Hospital this week, Jason Arthur, Cabinet Member Finance and Health said, “This report highlights the need for North Middlesex Hospital to make rapid improvements to the quality of health services.” Read more about Haringey’s response to the report.
