Welcome to our newsletter for July.
Summer is here! Well, most days anyway. And we have the second report from our AGM featuring Cllr Ged Bell from Newcastle City Council and Paul Gasson from Waltham Forest Cycling Campaign. In addition, we have responses from the campaign on the Callerton Masterplan and the lack of provision of cycling infrastructure for the developments; plus to the technical consultation for the Heaton Road Area, including what the campaign supports and our areas of concern.

Callerton Masterplan – Our Response
 The draft Callerton Masterplan has us very worried about how cycling infrastructure will be designed and physically provided for in and around the new housing developments in the west of Newcastle, as the amount of appreciable consideration for cycling seems almost non-existent. Heaton Road Area – Our Response
Regarding the Heaton Road Area TRO (legal order), we support the proposed changes as part of the measures being introduced to make it safer for walking and cycling. However, regarding the drawing that has been presented alongside the TRO, we do have some concerns that we have previously raised during the development of this scheme. AGM Highlights – Part 2
 This month we have a report of the second part of our AGM 2016 (click here), where we gave the floor to two speakers: firstly Cllr Ged Bell from Newcastle City Council, then Paul Gasson from Waltham Forest Cycling Campaign. Speeches were followed by a panel debate about bikelash and how to work together through change. We’d like to thank all the speakers, panelists, and the members who came to our AGM – for another year of campaigning for a better city!
