Lasercut steel ones, anyway...

Hi, there!

I spent this morning prepping a batch of vector drawings for the lasercutter (tedious, detail-oriented work), so I thought I'd switch gears for a bit to say hello!

I'm excited to share with you pics of a custom piece I just finished for a wonderful couple up in Sonoma. It features a pattern of tessellating diamonds, which was inspired by a carved stone screen from a temple in Jaipur.

Another fun update is that I was recently the featured Designer of the Week over at Deck Studios -- check out the interview I did with them.

Enjoy!

Custom Piece for Michael and Salma
I just wrapped up a commission piece for a wonderful couple, Michael and Salma. They wanted something bold and geometric for over their fireplace, and mentioned that they loved the patterns found in Islamic art. The inspiration for this design was a photo I’d found of a carved stone screen from a temple in Jaipur called Chandra Mahal. (I only later figured out that I had actually visited that very temple a few years ago with my family!) Read the full backstory on the blog!

Designer of the Week at Deck Studios

I'm the Featured Designer of the Week over at London's Deck Studios! Check out the interview I did with their founders, Ed & Sin, in which I discuss how my color palette can be described as "fifty shades of gray." Click here to read the full interview.
