If you’ve been with us on Sundays this summer, you’ve probably noticed the work going on in our sanctuary (what we affectionately call "The Living Room"). Let me catch you up on what’s going on.
When the board of Living Way Ministries decided to discontinue the radio ministry a couple of years ago, we felt the Lord leading us to use its sale to bring our somewhat neglected media and communication systems up to speed.
These adjustments would support our ability to stream God's message to people all over the globe, as well as facilitate what Jesus is doing among us in our gatherings.
Well, the time has finally come!
Here's what's happening...
We're replacing faulty, dated video technology
Not only does unreliable, low-quality technology add a lot of extra work for staff and volunteers, it distracts from worship. Whether you're trying to read the screens from the back of the room or you're watching online, new video technology will help you feel more a part of each service.
Side Note: Did you know that nearly 400 people stream online each week? Whether faithful members who are physically unable to join us or visitors looking for a church, these video upgrades will be a huge help.
We're creating a sonically "safe" environment
Presently, the sound barely reaches some seats while blowing others out. New sound and acoustic treatments will provide better, more consistent sound throughout the room and help make the space feel more like a true living room.
We’re improving the lighting
To create a more engaging worship experience and to reduce maintenance costs, we're installing a new, more flexible lighting system for the platform. And, in the next phase of this project, we’ll be upgrading the main electrical and lighting systems to improve reliability and help you see better!
Finally, we’re replacing the platform
In addition to increasing the intimacy of the room, the new platform will be more flexible, supporting seasonal changes and reducing the manual labor on those who serve.
So, that's quite a lot. But it's going to be a great, new reality for our services and online streaming. I'm hopeful that we'll rejoice in this new season together, as we become more effective in our mission to disciple our city and send out people all over the world, spreading the message of the Kingdom!
One last thing...
While you'll receive more updates soon, mark your calendar for Sunday, August 7! We’ll be meeting in 4 services in The Prayer Chapel (with a 5th service the night before), so our crews can work through the weekend and bring this project to completion.

So far, we've being doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Note the white atrium walls have been removed, and some ceiling work has begun over the platform.
