Owner Drive Set for July 25

Come celebrate the good news—HGC has reached 400 owners!  But we need your help to reach our next goal of 600 owners.

One of the ways you can help is by bring your friends, neighbors and family to our next owner drive, to learn about HGC and hear our message about joining HGC.

The Owner Drive will be at Pier 500 (500 1st Street) on July 25, in the back meeting room. The evening start at 6:30 p.m. with a mixer and dinner (order off the menu), followed by a 7 p.m. presentation on HGC’s progress and information on joining HGC.

We need your help to grow the co-op!  HGC’s next important goal is 600 owners, when we develop a formal business planning and decide where the store will be located. We need 1,000 owners to open our doors and we need your help to reach these goals.

Thank You Volunteers!

Thank you to the great group of Hudson Grocery Co-op volunteers who helped with RiverFest’s Scrappy float during the Hudson Boosters Days 4th of July Parade. The volunteers distributed flyers for the upcoming July 25th HGC Owner Drive, as well as, help to keep the parade “litter free” by handing out trash bags for parade viewers to bag up their trash so it could be collected from the curb after the parade.

HGC at Mutt Wash

Hudson Grocery Cooperative hosted a booth at Ultimisso’s annual Mutt Wash on June 26. It was a great opportunity to share the message about HGC's efforts to open a grocery co-op in Hudson with pet owners and we had special treats for the dogs.

This was the 14th annual Ultimissi-mutt dog wash! Proceeds from the event go to our local animal shelters. This year the beneficiaries were Helping Hands for Pets, PAWS Wisconsin, and A-Way With Cats.

Planning for our upcoming summer events is well underway.  We are ramping up our call for volunteers to help us “grow our cooperative” all summer long! From the Ultimissimo Mutt Wash to walking in the Parade during Hudson Booster's Days, there are many events – and even more volunteer opportunities - to support the co-op!

Directors Kirkpatrick and Peters met with Evan Sayre of the Whole Earth Grocery Co-op in River Falls this past month.  Whole Earth has just completed a remodel of their main street store and they are very interested in helping our project move forward. In addition to Whole Earth, the Directors routinely reach out to other stores, notably Mead Stone of River Market in Stillwater, MN, as well as experts in the field of cooperative grocery store development as we continue to grow our owner base.

And grow we are!  We just approved owner 400 at the June 14 board meeting. If you have been waiting to become an owner now is the time as we work to achieve our summer goal of 600.  If you are already an owner encourage a friend or neighbor to become one as well.

Host an HGC House Party

Co-op owners we need your help. Do you know someone who may be interested in joining the Co-op? Would you be willing to host some of your neighbors, family and friends at your house for an HGC House Party?

As owners of the co-op, we all have a real stake in the progress and success of this project, and YOU are an important and powerful tool in the goal to build our ownership base. Your friends will most likely be influenced by what you have to say about why you joined HGC.

Let us know if the idea of hosting a house party is something you can do to help grow our co-op. A co-op ambassador will attend your party to make a brief presentation, answer questions and handle the registration process for anyone interested in joining the co-op at your party.

Contact Jacki Bradham at 715-386-3826 or rbradham@pressenter.com to schedule your House Party.
