Sports media team works with primary children to complete Essex School Games assignment

The Boswells Young Sports Media team, following previous days' working with the Essex School Games, have completed their assignment to create a promotional video.

The students worked alongside Quilters Primary School, Billericay, to produce their piece of the recently-held Essex School Games.

The work saw the students visit the festival, in its fifth year run by Active Essex and held at Basildon Sporting Village, before cutting, pasting and editing their videos showcasing the talent and sport on display.

The festival is a culmination of the work of all local districts within Essex, with all successful schools at Years 3/4 and Years 5/6 able to compete in a range of sports including swimming, netball, tennis, cricket and athletics.

The role of the media teams was to film and interview athletes, spectators, volunteers, young leaders and organisers, to create a promotional video showcasing the talent on show and success of the event.

PE teacher Callum Ridgway said: "We were really lucky to get the opportunity to take part in this project and the students, both from Boswells and Quilters, didn’t let us down.

"They worked incredibly hard to film, interview and then edit the material they got to produce four very professional videos."

The videos can be found on a link through the Boswells PE twitter account, @BoswellsPE.
