Judge Andrew Steckler, Superior Court of California, County of Alameda (Dept 514)

Judge Steckler was appointed to the Alameda Superior Court in 2015, and currently presides over a General Civil calendar at the Hayward Hall of Justice. Prior to the appointment, he served as an assistant public defender for the Alameda County Public Defender's Office since 2006. He worked for that office as a deputy public defender from 1999 to 2006, and as an associate deputy public defender from 1994 to 1996. Judge Steckler also worked as an associate attorney at Morrison and Foerster LLP and Heller Ehrman LLP. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College.
