Volunteer Profile

Raquel Pereira, Volunteer Receptionist,

What inspired you to volunteer?
I wanted to contribute to the SPW Centre, since I was already a regular user of the coffee shop and think it’s a wonderful initiative for the residents of the area to have access to training.

HARCA Life is published quarterly for residents and we need volunteers to help produce the magazine.

Stage Manager Required - No Experience Necessary

Want to build your experience in events management? We need a volunteer to join the professional stage management team at the Langdon Park Festival (moving props on and off the stage, prepping performers, looking after performers, briefing the MC on who the performers are and how to introduce them).

You need to be available from 11am – 5pm on Saturday 16th July. Contact thom.palser@poplarharca.co.uk

Spotlight Volunteers Required

Youth Support
As a Youth Support volunteer you will assist the Youth Work team in inspiring young people aged 11 - 19 to take part in our creative arts and sports programmes. You will help deliver a range of sessions created by industry leading partners, from Freestyle Dance to Spotlight Radio.

Front of House
Our Front of House team are always on hand to greet guests and young people, assisting them with enquiries and informing them of what's on at Spotlight. You will gain excellent experience in reception and administrative tasks including answering phones, responding to emails and data entry.

Spotlight Summer Stars

Cast your mind back to the London 2012 Olympic Games. We had thousands of visitors come to London and hundreds of 'Games Makers' welcome them; giving guidance and pointing guests in the right direction.

This summer as Spotlight we have been inspired by the games and want to deliver a world class holiday programme for young people. We will have our own opening ceremony, an amazing programme of activities and a very special closing ceremony for everyone who took part. For this to happen we need our own version of the 'Games Makers' to help us. Also do let me know if you can think of a catchy name that's better than 'Summer Stars'!
