Announcing the 1st Annual Chris Clarke Invitational
On June 22, 2014, the swimming community mourned the loss of a great friend and competitor, Chris Clarke. Chris was participating in the Indy Open Water Challenge when he was pulled from the water. Words simply could not then express the depth and magnitude of grief felt by his Indy Aquatic Masters teammates and his friends in the greater swimming community. Anyone who knew Chris felt his enthusiasm for life and his passion for swimming. Now, with the blessing of his family, we continue to celebrate his life and enthusiasm for our sport by establishing the Chris Clarke Invitational. The inaugural meet will take place on Saturday, 10/01, at the IUPUI Natatorium. We hope you will join us and, by doing so, honor our friend. Registration opens on Monday, 7/11.

Spotlight on Runners Forum
We all know that IAM sponsor, Runners Forum, is Indiana's original run, walk, and triathlon expert. With 7 locations throughout the greater Indianapolis area, their experienced staff is waiting to help you. But did you know they have swim gear too? Last Call for Summer Nationals!
The 2016 U.S. Masters Swimming Summer National Championship will be held August 17-21 at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatic Center in Gresham, Oregon. Competition will be held in an outdoor 8-lane, 50 meter pool; an indoor 25-yard pool will be available for warm-up during the meet. Online entries close on July 18. Will you be in Oregon this summer?

Volunteers Needed for SwimFest
Every 4 years and coinciding with the Olympics, Indiana Swimming brings the Senior and Age Group Athletes together for one single meet – creating a State Meet Swim Festival atmosphere and to celebrate success in Indiana Swimming. This year's SwimFest will take place at the IUPUI Natatorium from July 21-24. With 1,800 swimmers registered, volunteers are needed by 4:30p on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to time the Finals sessions. Volunteers receive free admission, a free t-shirt, and access to hospitality. If interested, please contact Drew Alexander by July 15, as all volunteers need to go through a background check to gain access to the pool deck.

Stacy Hoehle is the Masters Modern Pentathlon National Champion!
On Monday, 6/20, IAM member Stacy Hoehle competed in and WON the UIPM Modern Pentathlon's Masters Division. According to Stacy, "That was the best I've fenced at a high level competition, my run was really strong, and my shooting was on." Then, she headed to Prague on July 2nd for the Masters World Championships, where she earned a 4th place individual finish and a Silver Medal in the Women's Team Relay. Congratulations, Stacy!
