Check our Storage With TMWAs Upstream Reserves Tracker
Log On Any Time and See Current Reservoir Storage
TMWA has released a new online web tool that will keep you up to date on upstream reserves stored currently and the amountif anythat has been used to date. The new tool can be found at tmwa.com/reserves. You can view the data in acre feet or gallons. The tool also features historical upstream reserves from 1985 to the present and projected reserves for the current year. Upstream reserves are used to supplement TMWAs water supply when normal river flows are not sufficient to meet demands. They are stored in Independence and Donner Lakes, as well as Boca and Stampede Reservoirs.
The storage in our upstream reservoirs plays a crucial role in our sustainable water supply, said Andy Gebhardt, TMWA Director of Customer Relations. A picture is worth a thousand words and it is much easier to understand the use of drought reserves on this tracker. The tracker will be kept up to date, so check in regularly, he added.
TMWAs water supply is made up of the following: Truckee River flows, water stored in federally owned reservoirs, groundwater and TMWAs upstream drought reserves, when necessary. The tracker page includes links to information on the Truckee River Operating Agreement, other reservoirs in the system and Lake Tahoe storage.
