Job Description
 
Warner Bros. Animation is looking for a TD to help our CG Animation projects in Burbank.

The TD is responsible for creating and maintaining software tools, providing front-line support to artists and leads, and general troubleshooting of the CG pipeline in a fast-paced production environment.
 
Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop tools for the software tracking program Shotgun.  Extend functionality of Shotgun through the creation of stand alone Python GUIs, Action Menus, and Event Triggers.
  • Troubleshoot modeling, geometry sculpting, rigging, texturing, animation, lighting and compositing, as well as basic FX simulation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the animation pipeline process. 
  • Works with show leads and supervisors to provide support for various CG shows.
  • Develop and import plug-ins for various software programs.
  • Develop additional tools that may be needed for Maya and other programs.
Requirements
  • Highly experienced with Maya (2+ years).
  • Must understand the current animation pipeline process, techniques, and technologies within the industry.
  • Experience in a primary Shotgun production environment preferred.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently to solve problems with little supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with naming conventions and file organization.
  • Proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Mental Ray, V-Ray, SketchUp, Lego Digital Designer, LeoCad, ToonBoom Harmony, ToonBoom Storyboard Pro.
  • 3D Studio Max, Renderman, and RV experience preferred.
  • Experience with Apache2 HTTP, Wiki Servers, MEL, and PyMel preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Mac OS, Windows, and Linux  preferred.
  • Experienced with writing Python and MEL scripts.
  • A firm understanding of GUI toolkits such as PySide and Tk.
