Friends of Caldera: THANK YOU!

Many thank-yous, shout-outs, and appreciations to our generous community for helping us reach (and surpass!) our 2016 Friends of Caldera fundraising goal! During May and June, individual and business donors contributed $33,580. Combined with the $25,000 matching contribution from the Lucinda Roberts Memorial Fund, we are proud to report that a grand total of $58,580 was raised to support our year-round Youth Program. Thank you to our many friends for demonstrating how you value and believe in the youth we serve!

Share Your Caldera Stories and Memories

We want to hear how Caldera has impacted and inspired you! Over the past 20 years, many people have contributed to Caldera and we are so grateful to you all for your role (however big or small) in Caldera's history. Whether you've been a Caldera student, teaching artist, mentor, artist in residence, staff member, board member, family member, donor, visitor, intern, partner organization, volunteer, or general supporter, we would love to hear your stories.

Visit our dedicated webpage, watch selfie films from the Caldera community, reminisce about your time with Caldera, and submit your stories and memories by August 15. Stories will be featured on our social media and in an upcoming film.
Youth Program Update

We are thrilled to celebrate our 20th year of Camp Caldera this summer! Youth arrived last week at the Arts Center and have been working with a phenomenal group of professional teaching artists, youth advocates, and environmental specialists. Keep an eye on our social media pages for photos and updates throughout our camp sessions.

Last month we wrapped up the school year with our Student Showcases on both sides of the mountains. Students, families, and the Caldera community spent time together celebrating the work our students created throughout the past year. Click here for photos from our Central Oregon Showcase and here for photos from our Portland Showcase.

Call for Applications for Filmmaker in Residence 2017

Caldera, BendFilm, and The Museum at Warm Springs are collaborating to host an experienced filmmaker who will be in residence at Caldera’s Arts Center in March 2017. Aiming to illuminate the creative and cultural voices of members of The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, ideal candidates will be Native American filmmakers or filmmakers who have worked with Native American populations in the past, have quality work samples, a CV that points to their potential, and most importantly, experience teaching film to high school students. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2016. Click here for more information.
